Frequently Asked Questions

Arrival and transport

How do I get to Isla Múcura? +

By boat from Cartagena (La Bodeguita pier, gate 4; departure 9:00 a.m., about 2 hours) or from Tolú (departure 12:00 p.m., 1 hour). Cartagena and Montería have daily flights; Rápido Ochoa and Expreso Brasilia buses reach Tolú–Coveñas. Book your boat spot with the hotel.

How much does the boat to Isla Múcura cost? +

The current fare per person and route from Cartagena and Tolú is being officially confirmed by the hotel (the previous site published different figures). Message us on WhatsApp and we'll confirm it instantly. Children age 3 and up pay for transport.

Is there a park entrance fee? +

Yes. Isla Múcura lies within the Corales del Rosario y San Bernardo National Natural Park, and a one-time entrance fee per person is paid at the pier (in Cartagena, at La Bodeguita entrance #1). The current amount is being confirmed.

How much luggage can I bring? +

A maximum of 8 kg per person plus one carry-on. Pack only what you can carry: swimwear, sunscreen and little else. If you need to bring more, let us know in advance.

What time should I be at the pier? +

In Cartagena, at 8:00 a.m. for check-in and the park fee payment (the boat departs at 9:00 sharp). In Tolú, at 11:00 a.m. at the Múcura Express office (departure at 12:00 p.m.).

Does the boat run every day? +

Yes, every day, weather permitting. Without a reservation we can't guarantee a spot.

Accommodation and stay

What are the check-in and check-out times? +

Check-in from 1:00 p.m. The exact check-out time is being confirmed (between 9:00 and 10:30 a.m. depending on the source); we'll confirm it when you book. If you arrive earlier you can leave your luggage at reception and enjoy the island.

Can I arrive without a reservation? +

Yes, but you risk finding no availability and having to leave the island. We always recommend booking in advance.

Can children come? +

Yes. For children we recommend Villa Oasis (shared pool), the Family Cabins or the oceanfront Family Bungalow. The Elevated Deluxe Kiosk does not admit children, and the Elevated Suite Kiosk does not admit children aged 0 to 8. There is a Kids Club.

Does the hotel have a pool? +

There is no public pool. Some room types have a private pool (Deluxe Pool Bungalow, Pool Villa, Family Pool Villa), and the Oasis Villas share one pool among 7 villas. The sea in front of the hotel acts as a natural pool thanks to the coral barrier.

Is there wifi and cell signal? +

Yes, there is wifi for guests. Cell signal is weak across much of the island; the carriers the hotel reports having coverage are Claro and Tigo. There are no ATMs: bring cash.

What documents should I bring? +

ID card or passport for every guest. For minors, the birth certificate.

Food and drinks

Is dining à la carte or buffet? +

The meal plan is the chef's selection, served in courses (starter, main and dessert), with national and Caribbean recipes. During high occupancy it operates as a buffet. À la carte service is also available at Las Palmas, plus room service.

What does the meal plan include? +

Breakfast, lunch and dinner with a beverage (non-alcoholic), for $249,000 COP per person per day.

What if I'm allergic to seafood, vegetarian or vegan? +

Yes. The corkage fee is $50,000 COP per bottle.

Pets

Can I bring my pet? +

We are 100% pet friendly. The cost is $60,000 COP per night (VAT included). Breeds categorized as dangerous must wear a muzzle; remember to bring something to pick up after them. On the boat, pets travel held or in their carrier.
